GAROU: MotW ACA NEOGEO is an alternate version of the original game GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES under the ACA NEOGEO project. Like the original, it offers 2D combat gameplay, providing players with a wide range of characters and locations to choose from.
New mechanics
In GAROU: MotW ACA NEOGEO, the story follows the life of Rock Howard being raised by Terry Bogard 10 years after the death of his father, Geese Howard, the crime lord. One day, he receives an invitation to participate in the King of Fighters tournament. Realizing that the host might have information about his deceased mother, he sets out with Terry Bogard to compete in the tournament.
You can pick a character with a distinct fighting style and set of skills to use in battles in this arcade game. Every round, it takes you to a different location while facing a different opponent. You must defeat the enemies one by one using combos and powers before the given time gets to zero while the levels get progressively harder.
In this particular title, new mechanics are introduced, like ‘break,' which allows players to break certain moves to recover faster and land more hits. Tactical Offense Position mode, which is triggered when the life gauge hits a certain point, is also introduced. However, the lane system that allows players to switch positions from foreground to background and vice versa in other titles in the series is removed.
